Eleaf iStick Pico 75W Review
Eleaf iStick Pico 75W Review
Living up to its name, the Eleaf iStick Pico is indeed a preferable, innovative, compact, and absolutely outstanding (PICO). It appears that Eleaf has designed the ultimate go-to device for new vapers looking for top-notch performance.
Upon first opening the box, the first thing you notice is the iStick Pico’s reduced size. It measures just 70.6 by 45.2 by 23.2 mm. This vape mod is very handy and comfortable to hold. In fact, it can fit in your smallest pocket or in your purse no problem. It comes with a fairly large LCD display, which displays the wattage and temperature, as well as resistance and voltage. When you press the fire button, the puff timer automatically appears on the screen. As far as design goes, the mod looks absolutely stunning. It flaunts a brush metal top, bottom frame, and aesthetically made battery extension cap.
But what good are aesthetics if the performance is bad? The good thing is that the Eleaf iStick Pico is strong in both of these categories. The Pico is the first upgradeable firmware device by iStick. The user can easily get access to the latest innovations by simply connecting the box mod to a computer via the micro-USB port. For instance, if you want to upgrade the Pico to 100 watts from the current 75 watts or you wish to add support for a new material in temperature control mode, this can be done with just a simple firmware upgrade.
Other than upgrading the device, the micro-USB port is also used to charge the device. This will surely save you from the trouble of having to get external charger. An average-length USB cable will allow you to use the Pico as a pass-through while charging.
For a small device, the menu is complex. It has several features that you can explore and different button combinations you may need to familiarize yourself in order to fully begin to use the device. For instance, you have to quickly click the fire button three times to browse through the different modes. Rapidly pressing the fire button five times will also switch the iStick Pico on and off.
The mod is powered by a single interchangeable 18650 cell that will provide a maximum output of 75 watts in switchable VW/Bypass/TC-Ni/TC-Ti/TC-SS/TRC modes. Its temperature control feature is very accurate, making it perfect for even the most demanding temp control vapors. It also features adjustable temperature and wattage, fixed settings for nickel, titanium, or stainless steel wire heating elements, and three user-programmable custom TCR settings.
The iStick Pico is best paired with a Melo 3 Mini Sub-ohm Tank, which has a 2-ml e-liquid capacity. The tank is a standard 22 mm in diameter and 33 mm from the base to cap (55mm if the metal drip tip is included). Despite is size, it still uses a full-sized factory coil head. The tank comes with two heads; both are vertical Kanthal coils with 0.3 ohm and 0.5 ohm resistances.
Performance-wise, the tandem of the Pico and Melo 3 Mini gives an amazing vaping experience. It offers a full vape experience as one would expect from a mid-power regulated mod with a sub-ohm clearo tank. The Melo 3 Mini produced a satisfying vape using the 3.0 ohm head, with full flavor and good vapor production at 65 watts. The Pico also boasts of all the expected safety features including a 10-second cut-off, low resistance, atomizer short, reverse battery, and overheating shutdown.
The Eleaf iStick is a very popular brand name in the vaping community. They are known for making some of the most user-friendly, reliable, and very affordable mods on the market today. This Chinese company is one of the front-runners in this highly competitive industry.
